Poem: Dead Inside

So I haven’t posted much poetry in a while. Come to think of it, I haven’t written any poems recently. Perhaps aside from finishing your NaNoWriMo novel, December will be a perfect time to write some poetry along with prose.

Anyhow, enjoy the piece below.

Dead Inside

If I could rewrite our story

If I could resing our song

If I could recall our tale

Of how it all went wrong

Here’s to starting over

Here’s to letting go

To being hurt and feeling loved

To everything that I know

The chapters are present

Nothing has been erased

The one line you keep repeating

Is enough to keep me hoping

I’m still alive

But I am nearly dead inside
