April Bucket List For Writers

  • Start a new short story/essay/novel/something. It’s a new month so might as well. In with the new and out with the old. That’s not to say you should abandon your old ideas and uncompleted work. I’m all for finishing what I start but you need to know when it’s time to type “The End” and when it’s time to begin again.
  • Hit the gym. Winter is still haunting citizens here in Canada but summer is right around the corner. So it’s time to get back into shape after hiding under multiple layers in an attempt to avoid frostbite or to conceal extra pounds. You know what they say: an active body is an active mind. So even if you aren’t exercising to feel/look good, do it for your muse. Your writing muse, that is.
  • Write more, worry less. Adopt this as your new mantra. Seriously. As addicting as worrying is, writing should be your priority. Worrying does not translate into writing. The less worrying you do, the more time you’ll have for writing. Or other forms of enlightenment.

By the time May rolls around, what will you have accomplished? All of the above? None of the above? Other goals you’ve always wanted to achieve but never managed to?
