A week ago, I published a post called Why Do I Do This To Myself?
I managed without a miracle.
Today, I want to share the link to my finished blog on illiteracy.
I believe that reading and writing saves lives. And I don’t care who you are or where you come from, you deserve to be literate.
Books and stories have saved my life.
Want to know what I’ve realized from this experience? When people ask what I want to do, I reply with “I want to write”. In truth, I don’t just want to write. I want to help people.
Your honesty becomes you, and your noble intentions… well, they put the rest of us to shame. I hope only the best for you, Herminia. I don’t know where I would be without books, either.

Oh, don’t say that. I want the same for you. Books have always been there for me. And now I am lucky enough to have bloggers supporting me.

Reading and writing does save lives, reading especially – after all, you need to be able to read to understand at least some of the traffic signs on the road..

It really does. Traffic signs, medical dosages, everything.

You’re awesome. Such an amazing lady with great ideals and dreams.
And you’re absolutely correct. Literacy literally does save lives. Research shows that people who read and are literate have better health, are more aware of what’s going on in the world, make more money, have a lower rate of divorce, and are generally more successful.
Your goal to help people become literate is absolutely a way to save lives. I am now following your new blog.

You’re more awesome.
Here’s a quick story…when I was younger I wrote down my purpose on a slip of paper. On it, I said I wanted “to use my knowledge to make a difference in someone’s life”. The piece of paper is still on the wall above my desk. Even after all these years, my purpose hasn’t changed.
Yeah, I wished more people realized how serious of an issue illiteracy is. Typically, other problems are given more importance.
Aw, I don’t think I’ll be updating that blog, but if I do, it won’t be frequently.
