A Mall Without A Bookstore

A mall without a bookstore is like a school without a library.

Okay, that wasn’t the perfect comparison. You can’t expect me to be perfect all the time. Contrary to what some people believe, I am human.

As a lover of words though I wish bookstores and libraries were everywhere. In every mall, in every school, in people’s homes.

But I guess the world isn’t perfect either.

  1. I remember when they were all over the place. Often small shops run by people who knew and loved every book they sold! I hate seeing them disappear. We’re trying to make up for it in our house. Bookshelves full of books we’ve read or are reading or yet want to read are our primary decorating scheme!

      1. So do we! It really saves time, too, when it comes to interior decorating. We’ve always been like that–only it’s gotten ‘worse’ with each move. We don’t like getting rid of our friends! And often read them more than once. And then there are all those precious marginal notes in books we used during seminary and university days. I could go on, but won’t.
