How To Be A Happy Writer

If you’re going to be a writer, I want you to be a happy one.

Here’s hoping my advice might help.

  • Write whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. Just write, OK?
  • Grow some thick skin. The thicker, the better.
  • Look after yourself. Drink water, exercise regularly, sleep well, eat healthy.
  • Create what you love. Love what you create.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others. Seriously, stop.
  • Have fun. If you aren’t, make writing fun.
  • Finish what you start. Finish that story even if it’s the worst thing you’ve ever written.

Happy writing!

  1. I especially liked and appreciated “Finish what you start.” I have a drawer full of “starts.” You have inspired me to take them out, look at them again, and finish a couple!
