If you’re going to be a writer, I want you to be a happy one.
Here’s hoping my advice might help.
- Write whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. Just write, OK?
- Grow some thick skin. The thicker, the better.
- Look after yourself. Drink water, exercise regularly, sleep well, eat healthy.
- Create what you love. Love what you create.
- Stop comparing yourself to others. Seriously, stop.
- Have fun. If you aren’t, make writing fun.
- Finish what you start. Finish that story even if it’s the worst thing you’ve ever written.
Happy writing!
Needed to hear/read this! I can always count on you to post these gems.

I especially liked and appreciated “Finish what you start.” I have a drawer full of “starts.” You have inspired me to take them out, look at them again, and finish a couple!

I hope you do. I need to as well. Unfortunately, I’ve abandoned some story ideas. But finishing is a great feeling.
