Pale Glow | A Poem

Holding on for right or wrong

hands slip

Reach, find purchase

in unlikely places

A wide eyed look cast below

upward turn of the lips

A palm facing out

Tense muscles

waiting

Scan the terrain

watching

See as far as your eyes allow

work up from the ground below

Hear the waves lap against the sand

extending to touch your toes

Breathe in the chill and smoke

let the world wash over you

Admire the pale glow

radiating in time
