Better Off Alone | A Poem

She doesn’t need you

To tell her what to do

Or how to act

Who are you to say you should

She doesn’t want to hear every word

She’s already heard them before

Gets tiring after the first time

She wants to believe you’re different

Not like everyone else

But you are no better

Than all who came before

So she’s giving up

Better off alone

Than in bad company

At least she doesn’t have to answer to anybody

She can just make herself happy
