Forget And Remember | A Poem

I felt my heart break

and I didn’t want to know

why I never caught

the ball off the bat

I want to believe

everything happens

for a good reason

I should’ve seen the chance

in front of me

I just couldn’t convert it

into an opportunity

so I made my own

did better than they will

got to compensate somehow

it’s not the same though

at least I won’t be cocky

sometimes I feel like a fool

I can’t forget

the mistakes made

but I can remember

the lessons learned
