The Edge Of Everything – Jeff Giles | A Book Review

The Edge Of Everything - Jeff Giles

TitleThe Edge of Everything

Author: Jeff Giles

Genre: Fantasy

About the book: It’s the first book in a young adult duology.

First impressions: I like the title and cover a lot. The premise sounded promising. I enjoyed the beginning.

Characters: Many of the characters are likeable. I like the female protagonist, Zoe. I was fond of X, a bounty hunter, who saves her. Still, she’s a strong character who helps herself in many situations.

“Be careful who you fall in love with…”

Writing: The chapters are short. It’s not a long novel.

I’m not a fan of romance in general, especially when two characters fall in love after meeting for the first time. So the relationship felt a tad unrealistic from the start because things happened so fast. That said, none of the scenes are too mature or graphic.

The execution of the plot didn’t hold my attention as much as I thought it would. I wanted more backstory and world-building.

Final thoughts: I didn’t mind the ending. It’s conclusive but open-ended at the same time.

I’d recommend The Edge of Everything to a younger audience interested in fantastical and romantic books.
