About

My name is Herminia Chow. I’m an authenticity reader, a book reviewer, and a content writer. I am fluent in English and Cantonese, but I love learning other languages as well.

I started a blog in 2013 because I wanted to create content for the web while connecting with other writers.

In university, I worked at a digital marketing agency as an intern. I wrote twelve blog posts and edited an ebook for a team of paralegals who specialize in motor vehicle accidents.

I earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. I completed a major in Book and Media Studies with a double minor in English as well as Writing and Rhetoric. I won four academic scholarships and graduated with high distinction.

After graduation, I started freelance writing for a chartered accountant, a content marketing agency, and a law firm. I also worked at an events production company where I proofread event guides on InDesign and designed graphics using Photoshop.

In 2020, I was a content writer for a digital marketing agency. I also did some authenticity/sensitivity reading for a book publisher.

Most recently, I worked as a digital content specialist for a Canadian retailer.

  2. Going back to your post: Want to burn everything I write…please don’t. You will regret it later. No matter what it is, keep it…you may need it later, it may even end up being one of your most inspiring motivations later on. 😉

  4. Do you have tips on making it as a dancer….how do you support your passion? I have to get a job to help pay for classes (dance/school) and I feel demotivated just thinking about all the time I will be putting into a job that I might not even like. It’s hard because I’m very sensitive and anything I choose would have a huge impact on my entire life.

I think your blog is amazing. You’re a great writer!

    1. If you can maybe try to find a job related to dance or one of your other passions. See if you could work at your dance studio or something similar. I know that isn’t always possible, so find an aspect of your job that you do like. Yeah I’m quite picky too. I hope everything works out for you though. For me balancing my interests like dance with my obligations such as school keeps me motivated.
      Thank you!

Life was busy in my house, and I completely forgot if I wishes all my friends the best year.

I have gone through your both ‘About’ pages till now and loved the way you described yourself and your blog, and that is probably the reason I clicked that ‘Follow’ button. 🙂
