Thank You For 4 Years

This isn’t an April Fools’ Day prank or some practical joke.

I started this blog exactly four years ago.

See, I’m not a liar.

In April 2013, I went out in a limb and created a blog.

Fast forward to April 2017 and I’m still blogging.

I like to think a part of why I try to blog every day is because of other bloggers. So thank you. All of you.

Thanks for the support.

Thank you for putting up with me.

Thanks for being there through the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the peaks and valleys.

It hasn’t always been easy, but interacting with people I never would have connected with otherwise has been enjoyable. Beyond what I ever imagined.

Here’s to four more. Here’s to blogging forever and ever.

I hope one day I’ll be old, sitting in a rocking chair, drinking a glass of water (because I don’t like coffee or tea or any other beverage really), and blogging away.

Side note: four years later, I still can’t figure out how to center the text of an image caption. Maybe in 2021 I’ll learn how. No guarantees.

What Not To Do On April Fool’s Day

I’ve crafted this what not to do on April Fool’s Day post with a writing related twist.

• Claim you are a writer when you clearly aren’t. The writer title isn’t something you can throw around like a boomerang. Take writing seriously or don’t write at all.
• Lie about your previous accomplishments or past achievements. This is about as helpful as banging a hammer on your hand multiple times over. Be an honest writer or don’t be a writer at all.
• Steal someone else’s work without crediting them. Why make people question your integrity by doing something so ridiculous? Stay original or stop writing.

Aside from what I’ve mentioned, use your common sense on April Fool’s Day and on every other day of the year. OK?

But I know you are all bright, intellectual people. Still, smart people make dumb choices all the time. Case in point: me.

The End Of This Blog?

I was thinking about this blog. More specifically, I was thinking about ending this blog. I’m ready to give up on blogging. I’m ready to quit writing. Now’s the time to part from both. Besides, my life is hugely occupied by this blog. If I closed my WordPress account, I would have more time to do other things. After all, I am a student. Everyone says being a student is my first priority. Everything else is secondary. Without blogging in the way, I can focus more on my grades. I can concentrate on my future. Oh, who am I fooling? There is no way I could stop writing or quit blogging. I love this blog like it’s my baby. Happy April Fool’s Day! I hope I didn’t manage to fool you. I know I didn’t fool myself. Especially since giving up and quitting is so unlike me. Anyhow, I’m not trying to be a cruel person by taking advantage of April Fool’s Day. Because…it isn’t just April Fool’s Day! Yep, April 1st, 2013 was the day I created this blog. Although my first post was published on April 2nd, 2013, I still feel like I should celebrate today. It is, in a way, my one year blogging anniversary. So I plan to do something special.

I know I don’t say this enough but hear me out. I think you know I don’t take any of this for granted. Especially since I couldn’t have ran a blog all by myself. Thanks to every single one of you for making my blogging journey so incredibly amazing/enjoyable/every wonderful adjective known to mankind. I appreciate all your support and I am truly grateful for everything.

Labour Day, Starting School, And Surviving 5 Months Of Blogging?!

It is Labour Day! Unlike stores and newspapers, I don’t close for the day or stop publishing during holidays. I continue to work, which really means I write/blog.

Since it is September, most of us/our children start school tomorrow or in the next few days. Hey, some of us/our children may have already hit the books. In any case, this month is all about new beginnings, fresh starts, and different experiences.

For me, this day holds a special importance as well. Today (September 2nd, 2013) marks the start to my sixth month anniversary of blogging. My very first post entitled: Ten Rules To Follow To Get Published, was posted on April 2nd, 2013, although I created my blog on April 1st—April Fools Day. Coincidence?

Although I have said these three words more times than I can remember; I feel as though I need to say them again: thank you all. For your sincere support, excellent encouragement, incredible insight, and, of course, your invaluable inspiration!

This isn’t mind blowing but I survived 5 months of blogging?! Nevertheless, I owe my survival and my still intact sanity to the WordPress community.

With life getting busier as I write this post…I guess I have mixed feelings today.
