Leaving Money In Books

In theory, leaving money in books isn’t such a bad idea. (What kind of thief is going to wipe your shelves clean?)

Unless your younger cousin comes over, wants to read, and finds money in a book you own.

This happened to me today. I’m not denying it.

In fact I was the one who recommended the book to him. That was before I knew I left ten dollars in there.

Now I’m ten dollars poorer.

And this is why I don’t donate or give my babies away.

My Current To Be Read Pile

As impossible as it seems, I want to get around to reading every book under the sun.

These are the books that I’ll be reading in the near future because I purchased them for one reason or another.

My Current To Be Read Pile

But I’m still undecided as to which of the six I should read first.

  1. I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
  2. Divergent by Veronica Roth
  3. The Finisher by David Baldacci
  4. The Eye of Minds by James Dashner
  5. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
  6. Someone is Watching by Joy Fielding

Maybe you could decide for me.

A Successful Shopping Spree

How do I define a successful shopping spree?

When I go to a mall and come back home with new books.

Status of my bookshelf: expanding on a constant basis.

Don’t you just love being a reader and a book lover? I know I do.

Do You Like Reading?

When people ask me if I like reading, I want to ask them if they like breathing.

Why I Dislike Movies

Why do I dislike movies?

Because books are better.

What more do I need to say?

I will love you for the rest of my life if you purchase me a book.

On the other hand…if you make me watch a movie, especially a movie based on a book, I will want to indulge my violent tendencies by gouging your eyes out.

When that happens, you won’t be able to watch movies ever again.

You have yourself to blame.

The Problem With Borrowing Books

What is my dilemma with borrowing books? I feel guilty when I borrow books instead of buying them.

Maybe it’s because I am a writer and I feel inclined to support the industry somehow. Indeed, I purchase books when I can. Also, when I actually get a job in the (hopefully) not too distant future, I will buy books more often. Until then, I’m relying on my parents to fund my reading obsession.

It makes me feel better to know that I would be broke and living on the streets if I bought every book I’ve ever read in my life.

The Problem With Owning A Bookstore

I want to own a bookstore one day. Too bad I would never sell any of the books.

If And When I Die…

If and when I die, I want to be buried with my favourite books. (Quote)
