I Don’t Know Why I Didn’t Do This Before

I want to devote a post on to-do lists. Why? Because…

A. They are awesome.

B. They are fun to make.

C. They are life savers.

I’ve started making monthly to-do lists. Each bullet point has a task. Beside it, I write in an estimated date of when I hope to finish said task. Say for example:

  • Finish writing portfolio (Sept 15)

That’s actually on my September to-do list. And I use the verb finish because I already started working on the portfolio. Go me.

This eliminates the need to create weekly ones simply because I add all the projects I want to finish by the end of the month on it, so another list would be redundant. Although some people swear by making a new list each week. Hey, whatever works for you.

I’ve yet to try out daily to-do’s because I’m not really that busy or productive, contrary to what my mind believes. If I did, I like the idea of adding a specific time (like 1:00 p.m.) beside the task to give myself a deadline within a deadline.

At the very least, I feel like I get more done. And who doesn’t like making lists?

So Many Writing Projects, So Little Time

So many writing projects, so little time.

That should be my new tagline. Though I like what it is now and I am way too lazy to change anything right now. But I tell myself I’m not lazy, I’m just busy.

Just to clarify, I am not complaining about having to write a lot. Come on, I signed up for this. I even expected this.

I can say, without a doubt, that I enjoy it.

Writing. Editing. Learning. Meeting deadlines. Setting goals. Getting better.

There’s nothing better than completing a writing project either.

Recreational Blogging Versus Academic Writing

Ideas are abundant when I’m at home. Ideas are limited when I’m at school.

Words love me when I need to publish a post. Words escape me when I need to write a paper.

Deadlines set by professional writers, bloggers, and editors do not faze me when I am expected to meet them. Deadlines set by teachers do.

Blogging 101: Extend Your Brand

Extend your brand with one of the following: a custom Blavatar, a custom image widget, or a fan page.

Brand?

Ehhhhhhhk. That word haunts me.

I finally fixed my Blavatar. (Read: I learned how to upload the newer head-shot I’ve been using for months as my blog picture.) You learn something new everyday.

But I can’t create a custom image to save my life. I’d pay someone to but I’m broke. And I’m about to be even more broke. Perks of going to university this coming September.

Um, uh..I have a failing Facebook page. Once again I’m broke. I’m a full-time student. I’m someone who procrastinates. A lot. If I ever become a full-time blogger, I’ll pay more attention to my other social media accounts. Until then I can blame homework to finish, projects to complete, and deadlines to meet. As well as tests and exams I always cram for because I hate studying.

Brand still haunts me.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope everyone is doing a better job extending their brand.

Writing And Life Deadlines

I meet writing deadlines better than life deadlines.

Is It Just Me Or Do Writers Like Being Busy?

I like being busy. I am a writer after all.

I see others complaining about too much work or too many deadlines. As far as I’m concerned, they are not writers.

So is it just me? Or do other writers enjoy being busy too?
