My Goals For 2019

Where do I even begin?

Read 40 books.

I’ve been able to for the past two years. Hopefully, 2019 isn’t an exception. On a similar note, I’ll try to post as many reviews as possible.

Write, edit, submit.

In a perfect world, I’d publish something somewhere. It’s out of my control though. Writing every day, editing my stories, submitting to contests…very much within my control.

Post content I’m proud of.

When I publish what I love, it makes me happy. I don’t want to be as hard on myself in 2019, yet my expectations are still high for this blog. More than anything, I can’t wait to create.

Learn more Spanish.

Fun fact, my name is Spanish. My dad speaks the language. I’ve been using Duolingo and doing two lessons every day.

Dance, exercise, stretch.

To be specific, I’d like to learn new moves, improve my core strength, and increase my flexibility.

Be nicer…to myself.

I’m my own worst critic. I guess I should also make an effort to be nicer to others as well.

What are your goals for 2019?

How To Inspire Yourself To Write

Because sometimes we all need to be inspired before writing.

Exercise.

Dance. Play baseball. Shoot some hoops. Whatever you like. Move your body, and maybe your mind will too.

Write.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is write, even when you’re slumping. If nothing else, start another project. Try to write when you aren’t inspired or motivated. Who knows what might happen.

Read.

If you don’t feel like reading, watch a movie or TV show. Perhaps other stories will inspire you to tell your own.

Game.

Play. Have fun. Video games are great. You have a new world to discover. You get to see a storyline unfold. You can study dialogue between different characters.

Blog.

Bloggers are some of the most inspiring people you’ll ever meet. Enough said.

Rest.

At times, you just need a break. That’s okay. Eat. Sleep. Take care of your body. Return to your story when you’re ready.

Explore.

Go outside. Take a walk. Travel somewhere you’ve never been before. That could get the creative juices flowing again.

Happy writing!

What Will I Be Doing Over The Summer?

If only I knew. I don’t even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow.

Reading

I want to read every day. How much will depend on whether my friends want me to leave the house and socialize. Shudder.

Reviewing

I enjoy posting book reviews. They take time to write and edit, so bear with me.

Writing

I have so many ideas, but I haven’t fully fleshed out any just yet. I’m working on creative pieces to submit to various places.

Blogging

I’m a bad blogger during the school year. Not that I’m any better over the summer. Let this year be the year I stop procrastinating and start posting earlier in the day. It hasn’t happened yet unfortunately.

Dancing

I have every intention to dance often. I also tend to stretch before and exercise after.

Let me what you’re doing this summer in the comments below. I’d love to know.

What To Do When You Don’t Feel Like Writing

Here’s a list of 15 things you can do when you don’t feel like writing.

  1. Read. Too many books, too little time.
  2. Exercise. Your body will thank you.
  3. Walk. Jog. Run. Sprint. Whatever works.
  4. Blog. It might inspire your next story.
  5. Game. Have some fun.
  6. Relax. Meditate for a minute.
  7. Clean. There’s always something that needs organizing.
  8. Sleep. Take a power nap.
  9. Talk. Call an old friend and catch up.
  10. Shower. Or take a bath.
  11. Explore. Go somewhere new.
  12. Stretch. Yoga, anyone?
  13. Journal. Doodle. Scribble. There are no rules.
  14. Cook. Bake too. Make something edible.
  15. Eat. Take-out is always an option.

Sometimes you have to write even when you don’t feel like it.

Productivity

Get More Exercise While Multitasking

Read while squatting.

Write while standing.

Talk while skipping.

Listen while stretching.

Or just get more exercise by actually exercising, Herminia, and not trying to cut corners. Just a suggestion.

Can you tell I’m really, really lazy?

What Summer Is Really Like

Happy first day of summer.

Yeah right. More like:

Happy needing to exercise yet never wanting to.

Happy telling yourself every day you’ll spend more time blogging.

Happy trying to read until your tears and sweat fall onto the pages.

Happy hibernating in your own home because it’s too hot to leave the house.

Happy writing an atrocious amount of words even though you don’t have people to see or places to be.
