What Do You Want Out Of Life?

I want to be happy. I hope I’m able to do what I want to do.

My health is important to me. But sometimes I do things at the expense of my well-being.

Even though I worry so much about so many things, writing helps. When there’s nothing to stress over, my mind makes something up. At least getting my thoughts and feelings on the page takes some of the weight off my shoulders.

This year has been tough for reasons out of my control. So I’ve tried hard to focus on what I can control.

Word by word, day by day is my motto. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. Sometimes though I can’t stop thinking about the far future.

I like to believe everything will work out somehow. The pieces will fall into place eventually.

For now, I want to concentrate on the present moment. I need to enjoy each day.

I love what I do because I love the act of doing them. It’s the process, the journey that matters. Not the numbers, not the results.

While I don’t know everything, I know I want to learn. Even if it terrifies me. I want to learn more. I want to better myself as a human being.

I’m always learning. I love teaching myself. Going at my own pace, putting in a little bit of work every day.

End Of The Year Review And Thank You

Happy New Year’s Eve. Happy New Year. I don’t know when you’re reading this. But have a happy day regardless!

Thank you all for another amazing year. I’m grateful for every single one of you.

This blog didn’t do so poorly if I do say so myself. I got to review an awesome book, share interesting infographics courtesy of Grammarly, and confess something that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

I even wrote articles for Student Life Network as well as SUM.

I truly admire the work you’ve done and continue to do. You inspire me.

May 2016 be more awesome than 2015, 2014, all the previous years combined. You deserve it!

There are plenty more words to be written and stories to be shared in the new year. So happy writing, reading, and blogging.

I hope you’re happy and healthy and whatever else you want to be.

Stay great.

You Come First

You come first.

Put yourself first.

Look after number one.

Look after what matters.

Stay safe.

Stay healthy.

Take care of your body.

Take care of your mind.

Love yourself.

Be yourself.

Blogging 101: Love Your Theme

Try out at least three other themes — even if you’re happy with the one you first chose. Try one you’re drawn to, and one you would never use.

Even after however long I’ve been using my current theme, I still love it. (Also, I’m too lazy to change and configure anything at the moment.) The finger points entirely to the sometimes silly school system.

Now I don’t say this too often or maybe I say this too much, but I love my blog. For your information, the relationship is completely healthy.

And, for obvious reasons, I hope you love your blog too. It’s a magical experience when you do.

Happy Friday! Or Saturday. Or whatever day you happen to be reading this. Have a good Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.

What’s Healthy Versus What Isn’t

It isn’t healthy to stay in your room and study for exams all day long.

It is healthy to stay in your bed and read books for several days.

I have a feeling I’m going to be doing a lot less of the latter and much more of the former this week.

Anyway, I know I have already semi-neglected this blog and all of yours, and it will probably get worse as we near the end of January. Then again, blogging is the best way to take a break from studying. Thank heavens I decided to become a blogger. Otherwise, I’d surely go insane from stuffing my brain with mounds of information.

Right now I can’t wait for February to arrive. Who’s with me?

30 Questions To Ask Yourself During NaNoWriMo-Day 14

While the question below does not directly relate to writing, the question is still crucial to consider because if you aren’t careful, it could impact your NaNoWriMo participation.

Question #14

Are you taking care of yourself?

  • Are you sane?
  • Are you healthy?
  • Are you feeling happy?

Yes? Yes? Yes?

To some extent, the quality of your writing depends on the quality of your health.

So take care everyone.

Tomorrow we hit the half-way mark. *cue round of applause*

I’ll tackle this on Friday: have you neglected the rest of your life?
