What I Love-Lists: February 2016

Lists. Ha. What a surprise.

I’m not talking about the lists you’re thinking of. At least I don’t think you’re thinking about what I’m going to be talking about.

Oh, look pictures. I took screenshots. I’m not a photographer, remember?

Edit List

This list feature can be found in your Reader. Okay I don’t know when this was implemented and I doubt it’s been there since the beginning of time (i.e. the day I started this blog). But I recently discovered it. And I like. I love it, according to the title.

Anywho you can add a blog URL or topic to the list. Then that list will show you posts from that blogger or articles associated with the keyword you entered. Simple, right? My explanations suck.

Before you rip me apart in the comments for not being an observant blogger (and writer), let me defend myself. My eyesight sucks. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was a kid. And I had eye surgery when I was still a baby. So pardon my poor eyesight. It’s only going to get worse from here.

15 Things I Hate

I feel like I’ve mentioned most of these things either indirectly or addressed them completely.

  1. Smudges.
  2. Public washrooms.
  3. Small spaces.
  4. Mud.
  5. Tardiness.
  6. Disappointment.
  7. Bad pain.
  8. Bad germs.
  9. Bad manners.
  10. Arrogance.
  11. Insects.
  12. Losing.
  13. Negativity.
  14. Liars.
  15. Most people.

I also hate redundancy, but I’m redundant by nature.

And yes, I am very much a hypocrite.

The Advantages Of Buying Books

Below are some of the advantages of buying books instead of borrowing or stealing them. I hope you don’t do the latter.

New and unused beats second-hand or hundred-hand. I made that up.

What? Don’t tell me you’ve never sniffed a book. This will determine if we can be friends or not.

You can do whatever you want with something that’s yours. Read it. Donate it. Eat it.

Grow your library

Not satisfied with being good to yourself? You’re also going to…

Support the industry

Bless your heart and soul.

I could think of more if I tried. But I’m not going to try.

Purchasing books is the best thing ever. I don’t care what anyone else says.

Feel free to add to this list in the comments section below. Or, you know, add to my list in your head. That works too.

I wrote about the disadvantages in yesterday’s post.

Happy reading!

I Don’t Know Why I Didn’t Do This Before

I want to devote a post on to-do lists. Why? Because…

A. They are awesome.

B. They are fun to make.

C. They are life savers.

I’ve started making monthly to-do lists. Each bullet point has a task. Beside it, I write in an estimated date of when I hope to finish said task. Say for example:

  • Finish writing portfolio (Sept 15)

That’s actually on my September to-do list. And I use the verb finish because I already started working on the portfolio. Go me.

This eliminates the need to create weekly ones simply because I add all the projects I want to finish by the end of the month on it, so another list would be redundant. Although some people swear by making a new list each week. Hey, whatever works for you.

I’ve yet to try out daily to-do’s because I’m not really that busy or productive, contrary to what my mind believes. If I did, I like the idea of adding a specific time (like 1:00 p.m.) beside the task to give myself a deadline within a deadline.

At the very least, I feel like I get more done. And who doesn’t like making lists?

School Supplies 2015

School Supplies 2015I took 85 photos. The above is one of them. These are just some of the things I’ve purchased recently.

A previous post I published about a certain problem explains the tiny red mouse in the picture.

If anyone is interested, I can make an extensive list of what I’ve bought with images of each item.

Let’s be honest I’m not using all of these supplies for school.

I’m a writer after all.

I live for this time of year. Any reason to go office supplies shopping is a good one.

People (Touching Technology) Pet Peeves

These are my pet peeves pertaining to technology. Now that I think about it, technology isn’t what peeves me. People peeve me. Hence the strange title.

My three main ones at the moment are:

  • People touching my computer screen.
  • People touching my Surface keyboard.
  • People touching my Apple iPhone.

Anyone touching anything of mine without explicit permission from me needs to be taught a lesson.

Also, I want to start doing more list posts. Let’s see how well I follow through with my promise. I would tell you to start expecting awesome posts this summer, but expectations can lead to disappointment.
