I promise I’m funnier. But also more serious.
And that picture to your right is me but isn’t me. I’m not that pretty.
I’m quieter. As in I might seem to have a lot to say online, but in person, I talk when I feel the need to. Otherwise I’m listening. Or reading.
Also I’m not very eloquent. I’m not elaborating.
That’s all I have at the moment. What? Isn’t it enough? What more do you want from me?
Regardless of whether you’re a writer or not, I take you more seriously if…
- You use proper grammar.
- You spell words correctly.
- You aren’t cursing every other sentence.
- You know how to punctuate.
- You read over your work several times.
- You don’t blame auto-correct.
- You ensure words mean what you intend them to mean.
- You write without stealing, copying, or plagiarizing from others.
I have come to the decision that I want to spend the rest of my life reading, writing, blogging, editing, revising, etc. I don’t want to just pursue writing as a hobby or for fun. I’m serious about it. So serious in fact that I want to study writing and English in post-secondary. Serious enough to go after a career in this industry.
You think I’m crazy, right? Crazy enough to follow my dreams, to listen to my heart, to do something I love?
Then yes, I am crazy.
You know you are a damn good writer when….an English teacher accuses you of plagiarizing.
Like what kind of writer copies someone else’s ideas instead of coming up with their own? Why would a writer ruin the writing process for themselves? A real writer uses their own words, their own ideas, and their own brain.
