Best Time Of The Year

I love the time right before school starts because I have an excuse to buy school supplies and stationery.

Back to school shopping, in my opinion, is the best kind of shopping.

As you can imagine, I live for this kind of stuff.

I end up buying pens and notebooks I use for writing rather than studying. For my own work rather than schoolwork.

I regret nothing.

Personal Reflection

August 2015: What I Love Birthday Edition

So I finally get to explain why my “What I Love” posts are on the 22nd of every month.

Cue drumroll please.

No? Okay.

My birthday is August 22, 1997.

I figured it’s fitting to devote a monthly post in honour of something or someone I love. At the very least, it’ll make me more appreciative of all that I have.

Because I’m turning 18 today and I’ll already be a year older by the time this post is up, I’m making a list of 22 concepts/people/things I love. In no particular order, of course.

  1. Speaking of lists, I love them.
  2. The number 22 for obvious reasons.
  3. August. I’m lucky I don’t have to go to school on my birthday.
  4. Simple Plan. I need to see them play live.
  5. School supplies and stationery. I’m cheating, I know.
  6. Shopping. Um, uh…let’s move on.
  7. Good food. I adore eating.
  8. Great music. How does anyone hate it?
  9. Red. It’s my favourite colour.
  10. Challenges. Bring them on.
  11. Teachers and mentors. I am indebted to them.
  12. My family for supporting me and stroking my ego.
  13. My friends for making me cry tears of laughter and joy.
  14. My enemies for telling me lies that I will never allow to be true.
  15. Pens for composing my stories.
  16. Notebooks for carrying my words.
  17. Dancing. And all things associated with it like dancers or dance shoes.
  18. Blogging. Again, anything related to blogging as well. Other blogs. Beautiful bloggers.
  19. Writing. Creating characters gives me life.
  20. Reading. Books were my first love.
  21. Myself. Because self-love is important.
  22. You! I don’t say this enough though I ought to; I love you.

School Supplies 2015

School Supplies 2015I took 85 photos. The above is one of them. These are just some of the things I’ve purchased recently.

A previous post I published about a certain problem explains the tiny red mouse in the picture.

If anyone is interested, I can make an extensive list of what I’ve bought with images of each item.

Let’s be honest I’m not using all of these supplies for school.

I’m a writer after all.

I live for this time of year. Any reason to go office supplies shopping is a good one.

A Successful Shopping Spree

How do I define a successful shopping spree?

When I go to a mall and come back home with new books.

Status of my bookshelf: expanding on a constant basis.

Don’t you just love being a reader and a book lover? I know I do.

Countdown To Christmas: Shopping For Writers Advice

To any non-writers purchasing gifts for writer(s):

Buying Books

Get an idea for what said writer likes to read and what books he or she already owns. What’s the best way to do that? Browse their bookshelf, or in some cases bookshelves, before attempting to buy books for the writer in your life. I hope you’re blessed enough to know multiple writers. It’ll make Christmas shopping that much easier. You can hit up one bookstore and get something for everyone.

Buying Coffee

I’m not the biggest fan of coffee, but many writers (and non-writers) love this drink of choice. Once again, determine their likes and dislikes so you can purchase according to their needs. Yes, coffee is a need to a lot of people.

Buying Notebooks

Notebooks are life. Enough said.

To any writers reading this:

If you don’t receive any of the above from family or friends, you could just buy all of the above for yourself. Go ahead, splurge until your heart is content.

Blogging

Poll—Most Interesting Blog Idea

I’m going to mix things up and throw in a poll today.

Imagine confetti being thrown in the air right about…now.

So because I trust your judgement more than I do mine, I want to know which of the below you would be most interested in reading about.

I know the ideas are random and different from what I normally write about. The article in question won’t be posted on this blog, but on another site. If all goes as planned, I’ll include the link to the article once it’s published so you can marvel at my blogging endeavors (more like horrendous blogging attempts).

Like I said, I trust your judgement and I respect your opinions. It should be obvious by now that I’m the worst at making decisions, which is why I am asking you to decide for me.

I’m leaving a part of my life in your hands. What you choose to do with my life is not up to me.

Happy Black Friday

Happy Black Friday everyone.

I hope you didn’t spend a fortune today. And if you did, I hope you spent it all on books.

That was supposed to be a joke. Well, uh, it was my attempt at being funny.

Regardless of what you did or didn’t do today, I hope your Friday was awesome and amazing.

Stay wonderful and enjoy your weekend. It’s the last one of November so make it count. Since Saturday and Sunday are the last two days of NaNoWriMo, it should give you all the more reason to make the most out of it.

NaNoWriMo Sacrifices

Just to clarify, I won’t be forgoing all of the below. That would be ridiculous. Rather I plan to cut back on the time I spend watching TV for instance. And checking my email less often. You get the drift.

  1. TV watching
  2. Socializing
  3. Shopping
  4. Sleeping
  5. Email checking
  6. Studying
  7. Eating
  8. Blogging
  9. Reading
  10. Homework doing

I can’t think of any more sacrifices pertaining to me in particular. If I do, I’ll add to this list. Perhaps I’ll do an updated version at the end of November.
