I remembered and no technical issues transpired. If you’re confused, read this.
Incoming excuse. I haven’t been reading for pleasure as much as I’d like because I have short stories, essays, and other novels to read for school. More on this later.
Somehow I managed to finish two books I’ve been wanting to start for various reasons.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
One phrase description: The characters sold it for me.
Quote:
It gave him hope—hope that he had not lost his soul in the act of killing, hope that humanity could still be found, and honor could be regained…
My general thoughts: I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, especially considering the hype surrounding the series. Furthermore, fantasy is very hit or miss. For that reason I tend to shy away from the genre. At times, the fantasy elements drew me out of the reading experience.
The Forgotten by David Baldacci
One phrase description: You won’t forget this story any time soon.
Quote:
And he would not fail her in death, as perhaps he had in life.
My general thoughts: I think Baldacci pulled off some serious issues with finesse. The book surprised me on multiple occasions so obviously I’d make a horrible detective/investigator. As a side note, it took ages to take a picture I was happy with.
What I plan to finish next month…
White Noise by Don DeLillo
Why: I started the book already since it’s an assigned reading for my lit class. I’m almost halfway through. Honestly, the beginning felt slow and I hope the story picks up. Thankfully, the themes are relevant even if it was published three decades ago.
I don’t know why but whenever I see or hear people talking about books, I get the urge to read. So maybe you will too. Happy reading.
